After Orientation (From Session 3 Onwards)

Interns join their assigned buddies/mentors and start working

Each intern will:

  • Get their tools and accounts set up by their buddy
  • Learn the role-specific workflows hands-on
  • Start with their first small task

First Week Goals by Role

Frontend Interns

  • Complete development environment setup
  • Understand project component structure
  • Complete one small UI task or bug fix
  • Attend one code review session

Backend Interns

  • Complete development environment setup
  • Understand project API architecture
  • Complete one small API task or bug fix
  • Attend one code review session

UI/UX Interns

  • Access and explore all design files
  • Understand design system components
  • Complete one small design task
  • Present work in design review

DevOps Interns

  • Get access to cloud consoles (read-only initially)
  • Understand deployment pipeline
  • Shadow one deployment
  • Document one process

HR Interns

  • Understand all HR processes
  • Get familiar with HRMS
  • Shadow one interview process
  • Complete one documentation task

Pre-Orientation Checklist (For Organizers)

1 Week Before

  • Confirm attendance of all 11 interns
  • Book conference room / meeting space
  • Prepare presentation slides
  • Create email accounts for all interns
  • Generate temporary passwords
  • Prepare access requests for all systems
  • Assign buddy pairs
  • Order welcome kits (optional)
  • Arrange lunch

1 Day Before

  • Test AV equipment
  • Print any required documents
  • Prepare name tags
  • Set up workstations (if in-office)
  • Send reminder email to interns with joining details
  • Brief all seniors on their sessions

Day of Orientation

  • Arrive 30 minutes early
  • Set up registration/welcome desk
  • Keep water and refreshments ready
  • Have IT support on standby
  • Prepare feedback forms

Post-Orientation Follow-up

Week 1

  • Daily 15-min standup with all interns
  • Buddy check-ins
  • Address any setup issues

Week 2-4

  • Weekly 1:1 with each intern
  • First month feedback session
  • Assign first real project/task

Month 2-3

  • Monthly performance review
  • Skills assessment
  • Conversion decision preparation
